That’s right, REAL! Real drama, and real comedy. It’s theater, but without all the Shakespearean nonsense with words I don’t understand! Call it a male soap opera if you want, you wouldn’t be wrong, but you don’t get this kind of action on General Hospital or any of the other homo, daytime television shows! And that’s the bottom line because Skinny Timo says so!

If you could imagine what an Irish celebration at a German catering hall would be like, the regular thought would be not good. Well that was exactly what happened last night. My friends in Clancy’s Pistol, an Irish rock band from Philly were about to play when the owner, an old bitter German motherfucker, kept telling the sound engineer (who also happens to be be my very talented and lovely wife Jackie O.) to turn the sound down. After some adjusting, the sound was able to be brought down to a level that made him happy (or just enough to shut him up.) So now a few minutes later, I’m standing up to enjoy some live music when the same guy comes over to me and very rudely tells me “sit down in your chair!” For the first time in my life I was at a loss for words. So the night went on, and after the first set the place pretty much emptied out, but the younger crowd (literally just the people in our group) stayed and had a fairly good/drunk evening! Seig Heil, and happy St. Patty’s Day!

So I went to see this man (it’s Henry Rollins just in case you’ve lived in a cave for the past 30 years or so) last night with my wife and a few friends of mine. I was really excited to hear the man speak. He is usually full of life and energy, but after enduring political speak, and hearing about all the third world/uncivilized places he goes to for fun, I quickly came to realize the fire is out! On every spoken word album he puts out, and at every live show, he refers to himself as an “aging alternative icon.” Well, I have to agree with him. I remember being 18 years old and thinking that I could change the world, and really make a difference, but now at 33 I take this method of thinking for what it is, PUNK ROCK BULLSHIT! As far as I’m concerned, the “fuck it all” method of thinking is all the punk rock attitude you need these days. That’s just my opinion of course, but think about it for a second, the majority of Americans are going to vote, so why not take the “punk” approach and go against the majority. I don’t know, maybe I’m coming off as a bitter old man, but no more bitter than you Hank. I just have a contrary view on life. So with that said, the next time you come into Philly, please just play “My War” and shut the fuck up!
